Browning only made the Hi Power in .40 cal, five years and during that time only a very small percentage of the .40 cal. guns were made in the silver chrome finish. It's the limited number of years in production combined with the very small percentage of guns made in .40 cal with the silver chrome finish that makes this gun very rare. The Browning historian in their Utah factory is who gave me this information. In fact he told me this combination is most likely the rarest combination of caliber and finish in the Browning High Power series other than custom presentation models. Unfortunately, Browning did not document individual unit numbers for each style and caliber of gun. You can substantiate this information by calling the Browning factory. Thank you for asking.
