I can't usually get more then 500 to 600 rnds of 5.56 into a 30cal ammo can.

This is a 50cal ammo can. The ammo comes from federal in a big bag like this, I just transferred it from the box to the can. Federal ships them by weight so I guess technically it could be a round or two off.
