This is a fine, however not a collector grade rifle in my opinion. It looks to me that the stock has been carefully re-varnished (no wood removed) and the rifle has been disassembled for deep-cleaning. The gunsmith could have taken better care with the receiver screws by grinding a screw-driver to fit them perfectly, a step not commonly done any more. It takes a sharp eye to even notice this. However, the receiver screws can be replaced for about $15. I would like to trade for something in 30-30, .243, .22, or .308. I like S&W revolvers in 686, 66 etc, with no Hillary hole as well.

I recently sent you an offer of a 66-1 for the Rifle. You replied to my other PM
