Item Description: My loss your gain.
Bought this as a project and lost interest.
It’s a 1912 production year Winchester 1906.
I painstakingly sanded down the barrel and action with very fine grit paper avoiding and maintaining all roll marks then reblued with cold blue. It came out decent but I attempted to brown the finish and it created the spots you see on the receiver.
The good - all parts present except butt pad (I have a new reproduction to replace it), action works well, locks up tight and fires.
The bad - I believe the barrel is shot out as the shell casing after firing expands and you have to pull it out.
The outer magazine tube has a dent that keeps the replacement inner mag tube from going all the way in. This should be reparable with a little finesse. The front hanger needs to be re-filed and refitted.
New parts included for restoration- buttplate, front hanger, inner magazine tube, butt plate screws, action slide escutcheons.
