Trade Value or Items Looking For: Low mile LS motor plus trans
Willing to Ship: No
Bill of Sale Required?: No
Item Description: 1998 Dodge Dakota Sport, 3.9l V6 2wd. Manual locks and manual crank windows. Clean title in hand. This is a great daily driver with all the new suspension parts and sound deadening I've done. Holley sells Gen 3 Hemi swap kits for these if you want to have a killer sport truck.
I did a lot of work on this, but it was a perfectly good truck before. No rust or accidents. I just wanted to make it as like-new driving quality wise as I could.
134,xxx mi. Title shows odometer exempt, the odometer and speedometer were not working when I got the truck. They are working now (I found and replaced a connector with a broken wire). Interior is very clean, so I wouldn't think that this has much more than 130-140,000 miles.
Only trades would be a low mile LS motor plus trans or a roller squarebody Jimmy/Blazer or Suburban project.
List of new parts installed (around 700 miles driven since rebuild):
• Belltech 3" front and 4" rear lowering kit (lowered shackles and shocks in the rear, lowered springs and shocks in the front).
• Rear brake drums, shoes, springs, and cylinders
• Front brake rotors, pads, calipers, and lines
• All suspension bushings replaced with Energy Suspension poly bushings
• New headlights and taillights with all LED bulbs for turn signals, reverse, and backup
• LED blinker relay module
• LED 3rd brake light
• New fog lamps and LED yellow bulbs
• Rear diff fluid changed, new rear diff seal and plug
• Upper and lower Moog ball joints
• Moog sway bar end links
• Steering tie rod ends
• Steering rack, hoses, and power steering pump
• Water pump
• Oil pan gasket
• Intake gaskets
• Valve cover gaskets
• Engine coolant temp and air temp sensors
• Thermostat
• IAC valve
• MAP sensor
• Rear wheel and trans output speed sensors
• Trans fluid changed, new filter and pan gasket
• Oil and oil filter changed
• Spark plugs and spark plug wires
• Intake plenum plate (stops the common Dodge oil burning issue)
• Interior fully Dynamat (Killamat) and close cell foam lined. It rides quieter than a lot of newer cars I've been in.
• Roll pan rear bumper replacement (will also include original rear bumper)
• Bushwacker bed rail and tailgate caps
• Durabak roll on bed liner (excellent quality liner)
• USB power outlet added to dash (used an existing cigarette lighter hole).
• Gorilla security lug nuts
• All 4 tires are new
• Wipers
• Microsuede headliner (original was light grey, this one is a dark grey)
Other:
• Drives great, handles and stops excellent
• Will include a bluetooth cassette tape adapter as well as a Kenwood head unit (used but working, you will need wiring adapter) that I haven't installed
• Includes Haynes manual and I can send you the factory parts and service manual electronic copies
Negatives:
• The front bumper looks a little off white/yellow. It was a perfect match until I clear coated it. Doesn't affect anything other than looks.
• No catalytic converter. Doesn't affect anything (no engine codes), but the exhaust is a little louder than a normal Dakota. Nothing annoying.
• The paint isn't perfect. The clear coat is coming off on the top of the roof and hood, and there are small dings and scratches. I filled in every ding/chip I could find and will include a factory paint pen. The pictures show the 2 worst paint spots (quarter sized areas that were chipped but filled in).
• The rear sliding window has some scuff marks where a previous owner removed a sticker. Not noticable in the rearview while driving.
