Item Description: This is a pretty cool rifle, but it admittedly has more value to a collector than a casual shooter. It’s a World War Two bringback. I bought it at an estate sale several years ago, the original owner who brought it back was a Marine officer who was stationed in Japan post war during the short occupation period. He carved the names of the cities he went to, along with the year into the stock. This rifle does not have the Chrysanthemum emblem on it, as it was not a battlefield capture. The chrysanthemum was the emblem of the Japanese monarchy at the time and was ground off most of the rifles that were confiscated during the occupation.
It shoots a 7.7 japanese round that can be ordered online fairly easily. It is fully functional and only has one cosmetic crack in the stock.
I’d honestly just like to trade it for something functional for deer hunting, .270 and up. I wouldn’t turn down a nice .22 mag or .17 HMR. Maybe even a muzzle loader. No shotguns or handguns though.
