Sale Price: 400
Trade Value or Items Looking For: 600
Caliber: 8mm Mauser
Willing To Ship: Yes
Bill of Sale Required: No
Item Description:
Looking to sell (possibly trade, see bottom of post) my 8mm Mauser Scout Rifle for $400. My goal is to sell just the gun and keep all of my ammo/reloading stuff listed below in the trade section, but I would be willing all of it for $600 if that is the only way. I traded for this gun a while back and am looking to get into a more standard deer rifle setup. If you don't know a ton about the 8mm Mauser, take a minute to read before passing on this rifle just because it's an uncommon round....chuckhawks.com has a few really good articles that describe the 8mm Mauser gun and also the 8mm Mauser round. Here is a little more info about the gun:
Custom built Mauser 98 in scout configuration per Jeff Coppers specs. Has 17in barrel with good bore shoots 1.5in group off hand with sling support, 1moa off bench at 100 yards. Fast to target great hunting/defense setup, xo scout scope mount, Wood Plus stock that has been glass bedded, flat black Duracoat finish, BSA 2x scope with Butler Creek flip up covers, Andys leather ching sling, Boyd trigger breaking at three pounds, Timmney safety. Will also add Jeff Cooper Art of Rifle book and a Mauser gunsmith Guide.
The action is a k98 vz24 Czech built, and from what I can gather based on the serial number and internet forums, it was built in the late 1930s. Everything is in great shape and I believe this is a great setup for the right person (I like the scout, but only have room in the budget for one rifle so I plan to stick with the 8mm Mauser round and switch over to a typical longer barrel / rifle scope setup).
I'm willing to ship at actual cost, or if you live in the Atlanta area I'm fine driving 30 miles or so to meet.
For Trade: looking for a Remington 700 or similar. If I trade I would like it to be for a nicer (~$600 rifle) and in that case I would include the rifle detailed above and everything else I own that goes with this rifle, worth $200+: 8mm ammo (~150 rounds), ~70 8mm bullets (just the bullet component for reloading), RCBS dies, stripper clips, bandolier, and ammo cuff.
