Item Description: I have a very nice self bow that was made for me years ago. I no longer am able to use it like I want and there is no use letting it sit in the closet! It is 67 1/2" long and weighs just over a pound. My friend brought the wood from Indiana, and the snake skin came from here in Montana. I am not sure, but I think it was measured at 55-60 lbs, with a 28-29" draw! It shot good for me, and I did bag a few cottontails before I put it away.
I will entertain offers, and trades. Trades I like are knives, optics, hunting and fishing supplies, and reloading supplies.
I will answer all questions and listento all offers.
Thanks,
Ken

Thanks for the nice comments. No, I am not Native American. The bow was made by a guy from Indiana that I worked with. He and i became friends and we hunted together. I don't know how he knew I shot a bow left-handed, but one day he handed me a finished bow and said it's yours.
I just don't shoot it anymore, so here it is!

Is it possible to shoot this bow with a right hand draw? I am left eye dominant anyway.
If I am holding the bow with my left hand, the shelf will be on the right? Can you post a pic with it strung?
Thanks!

I don't have any pics of it strung, but I am pretty sure you couldn't shoot it right handed. I am right handed, and I know I couldn't shoot it that way. If there was no shelf, then you could shoot the arrow by using you hand for the rest. Some long bows are made that way. Remember the bows that had a shelf on each side when you were a kid?
If the shelf was removed, the wood on the grip area would have to be the same on both sides. Also, the arrow always rests on the opposite side of the bow . So, what I am trying to say is to shoot right handed, the shelf will have to be on the left. I will see if I can get a picture taken, but probably not until tomorrow.
I kind of doubt that the bow could be altered to shoot right handed! But, if you want to try. ??? It may be possible to shoot right handed with arrow resting on your left hand holding the bow. I will see what it feels like.
Thanks for asking, Ken

Sorry for my dumb questions. From what I can determine, it would be better to shoot it left handed. That way I am using my left eye, anchoring on my left cheek. I will go to the range and try this with a left handed range bow.

Did you use cedar shafts with feathers?

Yes, I was using cedar arrows with feather fletching. If I still have them. I will throw them in. A lot of people also use aluminum arrows of the right weight. I will check to see what I have.
Thanks,
Ken
