Item Description: 1997 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 5.9 Cummins Turbo diesel, Auto, extended cab , long bed. 218,000 miles. Electric windows and mirrors. Paint/clear coat is peeling on the hood and roof so it is not a show truck. Headliner has been taken out. The windshield has a crack in it. Small dent in left rear quarter panel. Cranks and runs fine. It has a cracked dash but has a cover on it and the heater core was replaced a couple of yrs ago. Interior is in good condition. It has gauges(boost, fuel pressure and EGT). The lift pump was replaced 2yrs ago as a preventive measure. The throttle rod was replaced 6 months ago because it was loose. Cranks without touching the pedal.
Would also consider trading for a older 19+ ft center console boat.

I guess you're probably right but the '97's are known as the last of the 12 valve mechanical 5.9 Cummins.

I have one - 3500 4x4 Dually 12 Valve, mechanical pump. It's hard to get parts for sometimes because the parts stores always insist that the 1998 trucks only have 24 valve EFI when mine is factory 12 valve mechanical fuel injection. I just ask for 1997 engine parts and 1998 everything else.

Your 1997 is a beast and anyone will do good with it.
