Its a good deal if it runs. Federal Ord essentially copied the U.S. drawings. The old stamped op rod Universals are going for that much and are not parts compatible with USGI.

Oh so it will take usgi parts but there's none in the gun

Who knows? I know from recollection that M1 Carbines and their parts were dirt cheap back in the 60s and early 70s. The receivers are not GI but i wouldn't be surprised if some of the parts are. I guess it depends on the date of manufacture. The attractive point about interchangeability is access to spare parts.
