Thank you for the info, didn't really have a clue to be honest. I have 4 Glocks but never really thought of collector Glocks. Looking back I have had 2 LEO trade in gen 2 and sold them for $450 unknowingly. Live and learn I guess. Lol
GLWS and have a blessed day brother.

No problem man. I am a gun enthusiast myself but have never given much thought to the details and deeper history and facts behind the Glock brand. I have little to no experience with the brand at all. These things have all been explained to me recently and I'm not sure about much of it myself. At this point I'm just gathering the information through research and from what much more brand-knowledgeable people are giving me.

Yep I have been too...
(Anyone feel free to correct my info. I'm not a Glock expert and am just repeating what I have been told without fact checking):

Short Story= Its a 2nd Generation Glock which is hard to find and expensive if you do, and also this was the FIRST generation that the 22 was offered.

Long Story: Officer bought his issued firearm, sold it to his dad (my father-in-law) who had it in his possession for a few years and never fired it. FIL wanted to let go of a few, offered this one to me at a good price, I took it. I've had it for a couple years and have also never fired it. Over the years everyone has told me not to change or mod it and eventually not to even shoot it much as it is becoming rare. I'm not a collector or Glock enthusiast and would rather have something I can upgrade sites, barrel and shoot plenty...also be nice for this great gun to go to someone who really appreciates it properly. Most I've talked to have suggested its value around $800. Supposedly to a collector they have gone consistently as high as $1,200. I figure if it goes to a good home and I get enough to replace it with what I want, then it's a win/win.
So here it is at $700 to see what happens.
LE trade in gen 2 glock 22's are far from rare, honestly one of the more common gen 2 glocks you see, and can be had usually around the $300-$400 range, not knocking your price just passing along they aren't as rare or expensive as you were led to believe.

That's what I was thinking. Had to be a boat load of them out there.

Thanks I guess? ‍♂️
I was warned by some very educated people (in this topic and brand) that I would get about 10 "naysayers" for every 1 knowledgeable qualified person when dealing with this brand. One of the reasons I've gently steered clear of it and admittedly have no personal experience with it.
By that metric, I'm actually doing really good. So far I've had 6 positive, 2 offers, 1 naysayer, and one who was grumpy and insulting me (not the gun).....still waiting for Karen to show up.
This is fun.

Where are these boat loads of them out there guys? Honestly, I'm learning here myself on this brand/topic.
A basic internet search, talking with my local Glock Dealer, and two other shops in town tells me that you guys are just flat-out wrong. From everything I'm hearing and seeing right now, you cant buy any Glocks anywhere of any kind (except .22lr). Everything everywhere is sold out. And these boat loads of 1st and 2and Gen out there that you can easily pick up at any time....where!? Logically it makes sense, sure, but I havent seen a single one. I've personally NEVER even seen a 1st or 2nd Gen before this one....AGAIN admittedly I dont deal with Glocks much.
Personally, if I can find "plenty" of them out there for sale, then I'd consider my gun to NOT be rare, I'd happily take this post down, and I'd upgrade and shoot the hell out of this gun and love every minute of it!
I'm stacking your quick comments here against what THREE gun shops, including a Glock dealer, three fellow Glock brand fans (co-workers), and my own research are telling me, and they are all very confidently telling me that your claims are simply false. At this point I may need to see some credentials and proof here boys. Haha

Law Enforcement can get brand new Gen 5 Glocks for $399.00 plus tax. Just for your information. Good luck with your quest.
Now THIS is true. I have been told the same thing and have seen the same thing myself. I, however am selling a Gen 2 here which can not be bought right now by almost anyone for anywhere near $399....or at least that's what I'm being told and what my research has led me to believe...

adventure outdoors typically sells mass quantities of gen2 and gen 3 glocks in the lower price area, glock dealer or not they'll tell you what you want to hear to so you will keep coming to them. Usually everything is easier to find, but with Rona, civil unrest, election, racial tensions, etc. many things firearm related are hard to find at a consistent price. If you want to sell for $700 go for it, there are people that may buy it for that much but I believe them to be few and far between.
