Because it ruined this place. Should they be allowed to? Of course.

Although some are breaking the law when they do it, because they go and buy guns for the purpose, with the intent to just flip them and make money. Some of us feel that encouraging that here, or at least turning a blind eye to it, will eventually lead to this place ending up on the nightly news and getting shut down... But some folks only look to the short term gain, and ignore the long term consequences...

If they are breaking the law that is between them and the law, what has ruined the place is self entitled whiners that feel the need to inject themselves and their Hollier then thou opinions in every ones business. The prices on here have always been debatable and if I ever got a deal it was because I convinced myself I did.

There are literally dozens of guys on ODT that do exactly that. Flipping isn't a one off where they made a few bucks. They do it several times a week and it's a genuine income for them. Members have seen other members that they know and recognize, coming out of a gun store with a couple guns, and then seeing those guns listed here the same day, within hours, at a huge markup.

Other folks buy a gun listed at a good price here, and within an hour they have it back up for sale here or GB or ArmsList, and several of them don't even bother to take new pics, they use YOUR pics from your listing when you sold it to them... lol

Happens all the time.

You should ride to Ga Arms and see if you can identify any of them from here.. just go in and start calling out odt names and watch a few folks slip out the door..

LOL, probably.

I talked to the guy at PNR Ammo in Buford a couple months ago, and he was struggling with the same guys camped out in the morning, buying up thousands of dollars in ammo, and then flipping it on AL and GunBroker the same day at double what they paid... He didn't like it because he felt it has their name on those crazy prices and he felt bad that his regular local customers couldn't get ammo from him to go shooting or hunting and stuff... He was thinking about ammo limits and things because the flippers were pissing him off, despite it technically being good for business because they would buy it as fast as he could crank it out...

So if you are walking down the street in your neighborhood and see someone being robbed... you just keep walking?

I mean after all, what's happening is between them and the law, or their victim, right?

If this was a Chevy forum and we were all talking about new trucks and one dealer was charging $15k more for the same vehicles as everyone else, I would expect people to be discussing it, making fun of it, calling that dealer a scumbag, etc...

What's funny, is that all the people here who demand that others "keep scrolling, you don't have to buy or even reply to a listing that you don't agree with", are the same people who ignore their own advice and cannot go past a single price rant thread that they disagree with, without jumping in both feet and telling everyone why they are wrong, lame, etc...

I honestly can say I have scrolled past a thousand price rants, but after being hijacked the other night, I have been pissed off and looking for a fight.

I take part out of boredom. I don't even bother browsing the for sale areas because there isn't anything that interests me for a realistic price. I use it to sell things, and my average selling time is less than 3 minutes, because I price things at pre-covid or what I paid at the highest...

Am I leaving money on the table? Yup... But to me it doesn't seem right to charge a lot more just because I can... not when stores are selling the same product new, cheaper... Just not how I choose to do business. Maybe others need that profit to make ends meet... I dunno...

I do not sell at the inflated prices either, and you should look at the sale adds every now and then there are some deals to be had. The crazy priced ones are good for a chuckle as well. But this pot stirring banter back and forth is getting out of hand, and people are emboldened to comment on a listing just to stir the pot, I wanted to sell that hank aaron card, didn't have a set price was open to any offer, but because someone had to put their two cents in the post got overran, comments got turned off and I deleted the post. I will not have a for sale post without comments.

I agree but they need to remember. Just because the fox Didn’t attack the chicken, doesn’t mean it isn’t watching them, in other words building a strong case.
