Item Description: Smith and Wesson M&P Full Size Duty 45 ACP Pistol
Comes with box and docs and backstraps et al. This is a super reliable 45 that has had very few rounds through it. I have owned a lot of 45's. Most I don't keep long, I try them out, see if they are a fit and if not pass them on. Some I Keep. Some expecting an increase in value and some because they are a good rainy day SHTF backup.
This S&W I have had for a few years. It has never beat out my 1911 as a favorite but it caused me to get rid of every Glock I own. If I'm going to have a polly 45 this is the one. The trigger is just SO much better...
With its reinforced polymer chassis, superior ergonomics, ambidextrous controls, and heightened safety features, the Smith and Wesson M&P 45 is becoming a real winner among shooters.
The M&P 45 was originally designed for the military and police, thus the M&P. The M&P 45 adds a removable back strap to provide shooters with greater deal of ergonomic customization and accuracy, and the option of a manual thumb safety in a striker fired pistol. The gun has a chamber that supports the 45 ACP cartridges with ten rounds and one in the chamber. http://www.45handgunreviews.com/smith-wesson-m-p-45-review.html
The slide and barrel on the M&P 45 are actually manufactured out of stainless steel, so even if some of the Melonite coating wears off, the stainless steel will still resist the elements. There is a small loaded chamber viewing hole as you look down on the top of the gun at the end of the chamber of the barrel to see if there is a round in the chamber. I found this extremely difficult to see, even in bright light. I believe this “loaded chamber indicator” is more of a response to a political issue/requirement than anything that is practical, but it’s there just the same.
Weight of the M&P 45 is 29.6 oz empty, and that’s not bad at all for a full-sized duty handgun. When loaded and carried in a proper holster, the balance is great. For concealed carry, I used a nice leather Askins Compact hip holster from Blackhawk Products, and the gun rode high and snug. They have their Sportster line of polymer holsters that holds the gun securely. I really liked the leather hip holster best, and it was as well made as any custom leather holsters I’ve used over the years. Blackhawk also carries their SERPA line-up of duty holsters for law enforcement wear. https://www.alloutdoor.com/2015/04/09/review-sw-mp-45/
We are selling off a chunk of the collection. Many of these guns are New or Almost New that were bought and put aside for a rainy day.
I can accept some partial trades but the idea is to raise cash to replant and rebuild, so cash is better
