Ignore that the safety exist! Don’t use it and the gun functions the same as the model with no safety.

Terrible advice in my opinion.

Although these guns do have low profile safety, never forget Murphy's law. If you pull the gun out(in a defensive situation)expecting the safety to be off, IT'LL BE ON! Some people like to have a safety, some do not. I don't care for a manual safety my self. Not that there's anything wrong with one, but If your going to buy a gun with a safety, train with it using the safety!

BTW Great deal OP!

Terrible reasoning in my opinion.
First, this assumes a likelyhood that the owner will ever be in a highly unlikely situation where an instantaneous firing response is necessary, but where somehow the owner is able to recognize the threat, decide gunfire is appropriate, then pull the gun, and start firing.........all in such a tiny a fraction of a second, that sweeping the safety off with his thumb will take more time than is available. This falacious, mall-ninja logic and scenario gets a ton of mileage on the gun forums, but in the real world.....not so much.
The odds of an accidental discharge with a loaded striker-fired pistol, over the course of the years we all carry, transport, secure and store them, are vastly more likely than the chance of a given individual ever needing to fire it, and the odds of a situation where the safety is an actual impairment, is considerably smaller yet.
A pistol with a safety simply isn't the deadly liability they're often made out to be.
(and, a little situational awareness goes a long way. ;) )

I think you're missing the point I'm trying to make. I'm certanly not trying to sound all tacticool, and argue the millisecond it takes to sweep off the safety is going to get you killed. I'm saying if the gun you purchase has a manual safety, you should practice USING the safety properly, and not simply "Ignore that the safety exist". :thumb:

Sorry for derailing your post OP, but I'm sure you don't mind the free bumps.

I understand your point, however carrying the pistol with the safety off makes it no more dangerous than carrying the model with no safety. I agree that common sense and situational environment should be a factor. I have shields in all three calibers. 2 have safeties and I do not train using them as I do not engage them when they are carried. Just my opinion. Just because this pistol has a safety shouldn’t be a reason why one would not purchase it.
