History (l’histoire):
Originally serialized in the late 1939–1940 “G” series, this MAS Modèle 1936 rifle began life as France’s standard infantry bolt‑action.
In 1951, Manufacture d’Armes de Saint‑Étienne purpose‑built and re‑stamped these rifles as the MAS Mle 1936‑51, integrating a 22 mm flash hider and folding grenade‑launch sights.
The Mle 36/51 saw service throughout France’s post‑war conflicts in Indochina and North Africa, offering infantry a versatile bolt‑action that could also deliver rifle grenades.
Production ceased in 1957, making factory‑original Mle 36/51s like this one a sought‑after “end‑of‑line” piece for collectors and shooters alike.
What I’m Seeking

All‑original, matching Argentine Mauser M1891 + $200 to me (will negotiate on this depending on condition/crest in tact)
Persian Mauser (98/29 variant) + cash from me
Walther PP (not Manurhin) - straight up
