Sorry, I resorted to the lingo that Mosin fans use with each other. The part of the receiver just ahead of/above the bolt face when it's closed, and before you get to the skinny part of the barrel, usually is stamped with the date of manufacture, armory and serial number. Is that piece rounded on top, or is it flat with angled sides? A close-up picture of the year stamp and other stamped info will answer the question, also. Thanks!
