The regulation posted comes from what agency? I think you're playing with fire... Fine by me... Someone needs to break the ice and get these screwball ATF pukes to come up with some definitive transparent regulations.

So by not seating the brace all the way down the buffer tube....hmmm

JMCRAE, you may feel like all these guys are being jerks, but they are really just looking out for your best interests, and once I saw RdKill's comment I quoted above, I went back to my contact and he stated that since the brace is not locked in position, the length of the weapon is measured at its shortest possible configuration, in this case being the brace positioned against the butt of the firearm. You can do whatever you want with that information, but do not let pride get in the way of something that can be easily fixed by either removing the vertical foregrip or replacing it with an angled one, to be 100% safe. The ATF does not mess around and if they do see this, you will indeed get a buyer ready to meet up and but you will be the one paying the price. Sorry for the corniness at the end, but it is truly not worth it at all.

10 years ago when I did not know what I was doing and I first got into firearms I wanted to trade in one of my firearms and the store I was at took my firearm into the back to "appraise" it, called the ATF and ratted on me. I bought the firearm from some guy, it was a GSG 5pk and the prior owner had put a stock on it. I had no idea it was illegal. Now this store could have just gave me a heads up and I would have taken the stock off, no harm no foul, but instead they were total deusche canoes about it and called the ATF on me and I had to voluntarily give up my firearm and therefore lose the money I spent on it or go to jail. That POS store was Adventure Outdoors. I wonder if they have changed and try to help their customers that are no familiar with some laws, instead of just giving them up to the ATF the moment they come in. That is pretty F'ed up Adventure Outdoors.
