Does the 9mm barrel have thick walls (40-9 conversion) and fit snuggly or is it just a drop in 9 barrel?
Based on the images, the 9 mm barrel appears to be an EFK FireDragon 9 mm conversion barrel, which works with the .40/.357 locking insert and has a larger diameter outside to fit in the .40/.357 slide.

The magazines can actually fit 9mm too, previous owner used them that way. I have not tried myself.
Yes, they will fit, as most things smaller will fit in a bigger space, right, but is it a recommended practice, especially with the taper of a double stack magazine that has some inherent looseness as it channels/directs the rounds to feed... P229 12-round mags for this model can be bought for around $20 each so is it worth the risk for potential feed issues?

The barrel is the EFK fire dragon you mentioned and has the same outside diameter as both of the other barrels.
The magazine when full of 9mm does create the rattle that was mentioned earlier.
I have only shot this pistol once for function check and it was with the .40 SW.
Thanks everyone for the comments and support.
