Item Description: Here we have a Springfield Armory M1903 made in 1918. It’s been rebuilt at the Raritan Arsenal, and has a Springfield 3-42 dated barrel.
The stock has a Chinese marking on it, the US sent many rifles to the Republic of China (Taiwan) during their civil war. The bore is shiny and clean with 4 groove rifling.
There is a chip by the buttplate, it has been pictured.
This rifles condition is far from perfect. It has finish loss on small parts. light pitting on the receiver, bolt, and rear sight. Small patches of rust in tight spots such as the grooves on the bolt or the magazine shutoff.
