Item Description: Up for sale or trade is my Stoeger Cougar 8000.
Info about the pistol:
9mm, 3.6 in. barrel, Double-action 12 lbs. /single-action 5 lb., 3 dot sights, safety / decocker, and features a rotating barrel similar to the PX4 line of pistols. Take down is similar to Beretta 92 (very simple). Fits most PX4 holsters. Pistol comes with 4 Beretta 15 round mags, a custom paddle holster made by Ricochet Gun Leather, and the original gun case.
This pistol has maybe 50 to 75 rounds down the tube MAX. I have enjoyed this smooth shooting pistol due to it’s rotating barrel design. But am looking into getting into competitive 3 gun and need / want to use M&P because my current CCW is a 9mm Shield. Willing to trade for a M&P 5 inch 9mm for 3 gun or possibly a Glock 34.
The Cougar was originally manufactured by Beretta but the line was dropped because of production changes to produce the PX4 at Beretta’s italian mfg. Plant. The Cougar’s entire production line along with several key employees were sent to the Beretta owned Stoeger facility in Turkey. The 4 factory mags that will come with this pistol are actually marked as “made it Italy”..
