This is the SFP scope. The FFP's are the more expensive ones.

I thought new they were actually priced the same? Both right under a grand. FFP also gives more reticle options. A great piece of glass either way.

I have a lot of money in vortex optics, 5 scopes and range finder, rings, defender caps etc. I know my vortex products. This is not a $1000 scope. If you paid 1k you got ripped off. You can buy the first focal plane version on amazon right now for $899. Amazon has the SFP version for $749 and thats the one you have. The glass is the same in the viper line pst, hs, hs-t, hs-lr. You pay for the reticle options, illumination, turrents etc. The "S" in the model number stands for second focal plane.

No second focal plane are $150-200 cheaper

Great information. Looks like I should have bought it on Amazon and not at my local firearms dealer. 1000 included a mount & rings which was $ 110.00 ( I know, I could have gotten it on Amazon for $ 45.00) oh and Tax @ 7 % in the state of Georgia= $ 1079.63.

I wasn't going to go into it that much, but since they did, I will too. I just sold several first focal plane scopes in 6-24x50 for $700 or less. Your scope can be had on many Facebook pages and other forums for around $550 or less used. Your scope brand new on eBay is $749 right now.
