Here is my dilemma, the gun has drawn far more interest than I anticipated. I have two buyers with cash in hand, one responded by pm and the other by post to the ad both at 7:56pm. I am relatively new to the forum and want to do the right thing here. I have spoken to both individuals, my question is who should get it, pm or forum post? I appreciate all the interest and any help you can give re: the dilemma!

I would go with whichever one had the earliest time stamp. If they are identical, flip a coin...

It takes a little more time to send a PM to a person than to reply to a thread. If you got them both at the exact same time I would sell to the person that sent the PM because had they not sent the PM they would have been first on the thread post. That is just My two cents.

SPM to bluevoodoo. The deciding factor was the pm and forum post came at the same exact time however, the pm was for a slightly lower amount than what was advertised, bluevoodoo made a full price offer from the beginning. I have tried to be fair about this, hopefully I made the right call. Thanks again for all the replies and interest!

Distance is also a HUGE factor in my decision if I have more than one interested at the same time. Seeing how gas and time are a very valuable thing to me! Oh and the crazies definitely get dropped from my list first!!!

I think you are right to sell to the first person to say they would take it for the listed price.

Actually it is when the buyers that come in behind you gets 1st dib.!!...just saying..thats the buyers decision and the sellers thanks.

This is true, however every time you send a new post on the thread, you bump the listing to the top of the page and could potentially let someone else see the listing that the buyer might chose over you. No one is in a legal binding contract to accept the first time stamped offer.
