Item Description:
Glock Model 19 9mm 2nd Generation
Serial Number is of the form AMVxxxUS manufactured in July of 1993. I personally prefer the non-finger groove grips of the Gen 2 to the finger grooved grips on the Gen 3 & Gen 4. Someone must agree with me because the Gen 5 went back to it. This was my wife's gun and was very lightly used over the years. She didn't like to practice. It has dispatched a racoon or two over that time and was once brandished menacingly at a ne'er-do-well who then decided he didn't want to play. The gun has two excellent AroTek parts: The SureTouch slide catch and magazine release. These are excellent additions for left-handed, weak hand, or injured shooters. Much better fingertip purchase is provided on the mechanisms. The AroTek slide catch also increases the leverage of the mechanism (over the Glock designed alternative) reducing the amount of finger pressure required to operate it. The mag release is the machined-in version and not the less effective drop-in item. The stock trigger spring has been traded for a New York 1, and the stock connector was traded for a Glock 3.5# part. The combination used together gives about a 6# pull, but with a compression spring instead of a tension spring. The failure mode of the stock tension spring is that the attachment eyes break off. When this happens you can manually reset the trigger spring by pushing the trigger forward - providing you are the type of person who can remember to do this in the middle of a double-tap while someone is trying to do harm to you. The failure mode of the NY1 spring hasn't been discovered. They don't fail. The combo also gives a better trigger feel (yeah, it is still a Glock). The sights are Heinie Straight-8 however, the tritium tubes have gone dark. I decided not to re-tube them (though it is easily done) because I no longer believe in their tactical use. The gun is sold with four Glock brand metal-lined (drop-free) hi-cap mags. Get 'em while you can. The owner's manual is provided along with a decent but non-Glock hard case. The gun has had an easy life thus far and it shows in its condition. A lot of thought and experimentation has gone into the selection of mods on this gun. It is a simple but well-sorted combat arm. I'd show more pictures, but they all look the same.

This is likely the last gun that I will have for sale because I am down to my keepers. I hope you'll pardon my having a little fun with the last ad. Please PM me if you have interest. I will consider and act on PM's in the order received (without regard for forum post timing or content) until I get to one that works for me. Examples of responses that won't work for me include: "I'm really, really, really interested in your gun."; or, "I'll take it but I live in Valdosta and won't travel"; or, "I'll take it if you'll take $100 and my wife's blind cat for it." You can imagine many others, as can I. It borders on entertainment to read some of them. The ones that display a sense of entitlement to the gun simply because they hit the buzzer first are not entertaining.

The Small Print: I will ask to see (but will not copy) your Georgia Driver's License or Weapons License to confirm that I am legal to transfer the gun to you. If you want a documented transfer, I will meet you at an FFL shop, however, you will be responsible for any fees.

Giving away yet another gem
We get to choose whether we are going to stick together as a community or just stick it to each other at every opportunity as our society at-large does. I'm just doing what one man can to refuse to board the Crazy Train of gun and ammo pricing. I feel better if someone gets a good deal than if I took them for all I could get in a seller's market.
