Item Description: This is Grandma’s 1996 Mercury Gran Marquis. The odometer shows 112,000 miles, but the odometer is not working. She didn’t drive a lot, so I’d guess it’s not much over that. Grandma is not allowed to drive anymore because she took out a mailbox, which is why the passenger mirror is gone, and front valence has some damage. The vehicle runs well, and has cold AC. It has seatbelts for 6. The inside is pretty good, some of the window switches don’t work. It had the 4.6L V8, and an automatic transmission. I drove it on the interstate, and it rides great at 75-80 mph. We’re asking $1600 or best offer!

I'm digging this thing. Needs a frame mount class 3 hitch, air shocks, and free flow exhaust. Very nice ride.

Service up to date?

Is this engine / trans up to pulling a small trailer? ( about 1000 lbs loaded)

I just sold one about 3 months ago. I will say it will pull a trailer fine. I installed a hitch and pulled a few trailers. It was a little low in the back so I was gonna do air shocks. The idiot that designed this car should be shot. You can't get to the upper shock bolts. The body was installed on the frame once it was assembled. I returned the air shocks and bought the red airbags that insert into the coil spring. They worked great and were easy to install. I loved the old car but a friend cut me such a deal on a new truck that it had to go. My wife says no to another as a daily driver or I would buy this one. They are a workhorse.

I got a town car around Christmas.
I love it. If I had a pole barn, I would be hoarding them.
They no longer make them like that.
