Sweet ! This'll be gone by sundown ! :thumb:
(and BTW, though they never seem to get much love, those Choate one-piece stocks are fantastic ! They're rock-solid, and they really fix up the notoriously crappy AK ergos better than any stock I've ever seen).

can you cut the mag well to make these tak standard ak mags?

W..w..what? My bad, I didn't look that closely and didn't realize this wasn't a standard AK, for some reason I was thinking it was an SA85 or similar. Being a Hungarian made by FEG, I'm confident it's solid, but i don't know jack about these things. What's the story ?

Hey there! I'm not a very experienced weapons guy, and this AK was passed down to me. But bouncing around on the net I found various forum discussions about what I believe is this style of AK, and some were saying that the oval shaped dimples you can see in the photos above on the receiver just above the mag opening prevented using magazines other than the single stack. Other discussions said that modifying this receiver to accommodate other magazines is possible but not simple. I don't have any other mag to try in it so I'm not sure. Also not sure whether higher capacity mags designed specifically for this style of weapon may exist or be available. Kinda doubt it because of the ban(s). Another more experienced AK enthusiast may be able to tell us?

All the Choate product line is good stuff. But yeah I've put a few rounds through a Mak 90 with the same stock and it's a good way to go.

I’d personally Just leave it single stack but replace and thread the muzzle device and swap the Choate furniture with wood surplus. There’s not too many of these Fég SA2000M models still around and it was imported by KBI.

For surplus mags to function, More work and parts are needed besides just opening up the magwell opening.
