I bought it from a guy that bought it new a long time ago and he mounted a scope on it for his son and then decided to sell it so he took the scope back off to use on a different rifle
he said he only shot it one time
I have the box of shells that he had with one missing
That’s all I know about the rifle

The 357 mag 1894 JM guns cycle just fine. The 44 mag1894 JM cycles ever so slightly smoother. Neither jam. There were some issues with all lever guns made by Remington when they bought Marlin but this is a JM Model that was actually made by Marlin so it won’t. The new Ruger Marlins will be perfect as well. The JM Marlins hold value very strongly and go up in value every year. If you buy this gun then it’s a “win win”. I have no dog in this and have no idea who either of you are so this information is unbiased

I buy guns because I like them and love to shoot and when I buy something it’s with intentions on keeping it
I bought this rifle to help a guy out that was in a tight spot, I gave him $1000.00 and I was just wanting to get my money back and pass this very sweet little rifle on to hopefully a young lady or boy for there first deer rifle
I saw some new ones at the outdoor trader show that were rugers for 1200 to 1300 dollars new, I see some on the trader that’s Jm that are $1500 and more
This one is better built than the new ones and prettier wood than those and to me more desirable caliber with the closed bolt receiver
Now I know most of y’all are trying to get something cheap so you can resale for profit
I guess I’m just not wired that way maybe y’all should invest in the stock market instead
Anyhow I hope this message doesn’t make anybody’s feel bads hurt for I am done
I’m gonna oil her up good and make a safe queen out of her
