After owning it for almost 30 years, I've decided to sell my .300 Win Mag shoulder cannon. It can be used for any big game on the continent. The .300 Win Mag is a reach out and get' em cartridge. I don't hunt any more and the rifle has just been sitting in my gun safe. I'm thinning out my collection so I've decided to put it up for sale which is something I thought I'd never do because I love this rifle but it's time to let someone else get to shoot and enjoy it.
This rifle is in excellent condition and shoots great. With the the scope and trigger it's a very accurate rifle, especially for one that's basically stock except for the trigger. I've learned over the years that a premium scope and a trigger job/replacement can make any rifle more accurate. This rifle shot a 1 MOA 4 shot group at 100 yards with HORNADY 165gr. Custom Loads the last time I took it to the range which was probably 15+ years ago. The rifle has less than 100 rounds run through it. I took it deer hunting several times before I quit going and shot a nice buck and some does with it. It dropped all of the deer in their tracks.
Be aware that this rifle is a cannon and the recoil is fairly noticeable. You'll know it, as will anyone else in the area, when you pull the trigger and send the thunder. Not long after I bought this rifle, I decided to sight it in by sand bagging it on the across the hood of my truck. The concussion from the first and only shot cracked the windshield.
The rifle is for sale but would consider trading for ATI FHX .45 or Canik TP9 + cash for the rifle.
