These make an awesome"kickin"around in the woods field piece. While the .22LR Cylinder is fun too,I have to admit my magnum cylinder gets all the action.Accuracy is astounding!Dont cut the magnum cylinder short, its got the"smack down"Fill up some water bottles and see for yourself.Shoots like a laser beam out to 100 yards,no trajectory rainbow that I can discern.Easily my favorite pistol to take afield when camping, canoeing, scouting,or just general woods bumming.Doesnt hurt they look good while doing it either(most think its big daddy .44 when on the hip)Be sure to wear hearing protection though, because its LOUD!!!!!,and also is a fantastic spectical when shooting during low light conditions, belching large fireballs in several directions.Did I mention its loud....its LOUD!!!!!Once your buddies see it belch its flames around the grill one evening, they will be begging you to let them have a go with it,(only after promptly retrieve their hearing protection!)In all seriousness, these are great guns for the field, built for three lifetimes of extra hard use. Many extra thanx to Winchester for making,IMHO,our most useful, and up till recently our most powerful of the rimfires(aware of the obsolete 5mm)and for Ruger, for the fine platform to house it in.Both tried and true classics.I cant imagine my(everyday gun collection)without either. If these likes make me a "boomer",well Hell Im glad to wear the moniker.Do yourself a favor though and get this classic combo,I promise you, youll be as happy as a puppy with two peckers!!!!!
