It appears to be a paratrooper model did they produce such a thing? Or has it been cut?

As far as I know all issued type 56 SKS where 20" barrel and the shorter barrel ones where done after it left the factory either by exporter, importer or bubba.

My understanding is they were cut for importation to the US - they weren't made that way for Chinese use.

A factory /26\ with an 11 million serial is from 1966.

I have a paratrooper model that looks just like that. And my understanding is that they were manufactured that way by Norinco for import. Some original surplus ones were cut down by importers but that one looks factory made with a 16 inch barell to me.

And with the bayonet and all original the paratrooper models bring a little more than just regular surplus versions. Somewhere around 600 for a good one but with it missing some stuff my guess would be around 450 or 500 would be about what it's worth.

No it has to be the aftermarket duckbill mags or the fixed 10 round mag. I have mags.
