Item Description: Nickel plated model 12 air weight in 38 special caliber. Pistol was a carry, but is in good shape and has only been shot twice in it's lifetime. These pistols are very hard to come by, and hardly ever come up for auction or sale.

I personally inspected this one, I didn't have a magnet with me but it does appear to be steel cylinder. It had been fired very few times and was very tight lockup- mechanically appeared to be in excellent condition.

IIRC....The cylinder on these are aluminum...Super light but dangerous to shoot incorrect loads in it....I wouldn't trust 38+P in it. 38spl only.

Nope, it has a STEEL Wheel...But you're right about the Plus-P 's in the Aluminum Frame--Smith has no "Spare" Frames for repair purposes, so if it was mine--And I've had a couple of 'em--I would stick to Standard-Pressure loads ONLY--YMMV, of course...

That's what I use. .38 special. The model 12 numbering precludes it having an aluminum cylinder, unless someone replaced the steel wheel. Again, highly unlikely.
