For the record anything can be marked on the lower, the barrel determines the caliber.
But if this is all stock from Colt it is chambered in 5.56x45 NATO. @Wallace's or @mtdawg could probably explain it better than I can on my phone.
Edit to add: honestly, there are probably a lot of members who can explain it better than I can.
