Item is for: Sale Only
Sale Price: $75
Caliber: 12GA
Willing to Ship: No
Bill of Sale Required?: No
Item Description: Up for sale is a Winchester 1897 12ga pump with a modified choke barrel. The gun is in poor condition and is missing or has broken parts. The pump/bolt cycles fine, but the hammer is dead, meaning no spring tension. It will cock and can be released by firing the trigger. Also the stock has a small crack on each side of the tang/bolt hole. Fore end stock is missing. Front sight bead has been filed off. No buttplate, there is a piece of paper in the buttstock which lists the parts the gun needs. I have no idea who put the paper there or when it was put there. I haven't put a bore mop through the barrel, but at a glance I didn't see any rust/pitting.
This came from my deceased grandfathers collection. He used to tell me the story about how this shotgun was used by a guard watching over a still, a bar, or something like that... wish he was around and I could ask him. Anyhow just a cool small piece of info about the gun.
This could be a fun restoration project, parts gun, or simply a wall hanger.
Price is at $75, but feel free to make offers.
