Item Description: Winchester Model 70 Super Grade in 338-06. Custom 338-06 barrel. Ultra reliable Pre-64 style action with its controlled round feeding.

This rifle/ package can be purchased in one of four different ways:

1- The rifle only, without the scope and without the ammo and reloading supplies $900.

2- Rifle with Leupold VX-1 scope in 3-9x40 purchased and mounted one time on this rifle $1000.

3- Rifle without scope plus Redding dies, some reloaded ammunition, and over 300 .338 diameter reloading bullets $1000.

4- EVERYTHING - Rifle, with Leupold scope, Redding dies, some reloaded ammunition, and over 300 .338 diameter reloading bullets $1200.

This rifle has beautifully figured walnut stock with just a few very light handling marks. I bought it brand new about 20 years ago and didn’t like the way it shot in 270 Winchester. I decided to have the barrel replaced in 338-06 and the action and barrel refinished in matching matt blue finish.

The 338-06 is truly a reloader’s proposition. So, if you don’t reload, I cannot in good faith recommend it to you.

The 338-06 was originally a wild-cat cartridge and was legitimized in 2006 as a SAAMI approved cartridge and renamed the 338-06 A-Square. It fires the same bullets as the 338 Win Mag, but about 150fps slower. In case you didn’t know, forming 338-06 brass is very easy. By running simple and plentiful 30-06 brass through the included Redding reloading dies, you make 338-06 brass. It really is that simple! This gun has fewer than 100 rounds fired through the new barrel and it is an MOA “tack driver”. If interested in learning more about this very unique gun, PM me and I will share my phone number with you. Thanks for looking!
