You can remove it, replace the lifter arm with a spacer.

You don't really need to. It helps the DA pull (which this is not) and the reset (this already has a SRT trigger). It would help improve the trigger at the expense of a drop safety. CZ 85 Combat does not have one from the factory and neither does the CZ Shadow. On DA pistols it makes a nice smooth trigger improvement.
