Seeing that sure brings back some memories. My grandparents house, which I mainly grew up in, had no central heat. The only source was a stove like that in the living room. Lots of great sleep in that cold old drafty house. Always nice to wake up to fire in the stove and nanny making a big pan of biscuits in the oven.

this was what the previous owner had in the basement for additional heat. It did a great job. When I finished out that room it a literally got so hot in there I’d be working in my shorts and T shirt. It cranks out solid heat.

I added an HVAC unit in the basement. Didn’t need it anymore. It’s too nice to junk. And F Global Warming.

I had one like that in a old house I rented in Carrolton in my youths, There was a black family that lived outside of town that sold lumps of coal for 25 cents each , they picked them up off the side of the train tracks that fell off of coal cars, Id get that old stove glowing red on really cold nights .Good memories!
