Item Name: ISO "Hooptie" Toyota or Honda

Location: Woodstock

Zip Code: 30189

Item is for: Sale/Trade NOT SPECIFIED

Willing to Ship: No

Bill of Sale Required?: No

Item Description: In search of a hooptie, cheap 4 door Toyota or Honda for my son. Don't care what color; just need reliable, 4 doors, and 4 cylinders and under $1500. Throwing this out there in case anyone has an old car lying around.

I can find some on Craigslist, 1996, Toyota Camrys and corollas, but can't get anyone to return my calls or emails. Most are located 40-60 miles from me, so also inconvenient to drive all the way there to find out it's not as advertised.

Thank you for your time.

Check with Labowski Labowski . Although I would advise not trying to buy any type of used car from now until about April. It's now just before tax time and the car prices will be WAY high. Every hustler on Craigslist will be trying to tripple their money on miles up Accords with slipping transmissions. BTW stay away from!M the 98 to around 02 Accords unless you get one with a manual transmission.

Unfortunately, I don't have any Honda's or Toyota's for under $2,500 right now. Prices are high at the auction from now until July because of tax time like letusbuyyourcar letusbuyyourcar said... Best deal I have is a 2000 Camry 4cylinder with 187k on it. Need to get $2500 for it. I'll keep an eye out though.

Still waiting for /\ /\ /\ this guy to come pick up this ugly geo!! lmao

Thanks. That is interesting (what you guys say about the tax time).

It's that way every year. Although some years are/were better than others. But I'm not among the hustlers doing it anymore. I'm kinda semi retired ( unemployed and broke) down here in my semi tropical paradise. I would suggest that you broaden your search to include stuff like older Sentras with stick shifts, most any Hyundai, some Kias like the Optima and the Sportage and pretty much ANY older Subaru you can find.
On the flip side avoid all VWs unless you can find a TDI (diesel) model which I doubt you will. Avoid Mitsubishi all together. Avoid the Focus and any Escort after 96, Chevy Aveos, most Suzukis unless they are very cheap and any older Mazda with an automatic like the 626. Oh yeah I'm sure you already know to avoid Chrysler junk like Neons and PT Cruisers.

Oh yeah, avoid any and every Ford Taurus.

LOL; yeah, I am getting rid of a VW jetta. Every time I fix one thing, something else goes wrong! UGH. I need to get rid of it and a 2005 crown vic (too expensive on gas and insurance). I want to be out of the "used car business" with my kids!

I know a VW/Audi mechanic back in middle GA just north of Macon. If you PM me the details on your Jetta I will see if I can generate some interest. But seriously if you can find ANY older Subaru you won't be disappointed. I know they're notorious libtard yankee dykemobiles but they're very well made cars. Same goes for the Volvo 240 series. Only problem there is the newest one is a 93. But just look at what a 240 or 740 wagon goes for on ebay motors.Very solid cars. Now the newer Volvo stuff should probably be avoided too.

I know about those old Volvos. I searched for one of those, but they are hard to come by. I also looked at old BMW, but wow, do those things hold their value!

It's funny that you mentioned a PT Cruiser. My poor mom bought one of those things, brand new. That thing didn't make it 50K miles before all sorts of trouble.
