Item Name: Item Gone: Stripped Lower(s)

Location:

Item is for: Sale/Trade NOT SPECIFIED

Willing to Ship: No

Bill of Sale Required?: No

Item Description: With the upcoming election, I want to grab some stripped lowers in case of potential changes in assault weapon purchasing ability. The issue is I am 20 so FFLs would only allow me to purchase the full rifle. How should I go about picking up stripped lowers without having to drop the money on an entire rifle?

What changes to assault weapon purchasing ability? Those regulations haven't changed since you were born.

Want to buy ads only work on here if you put up what you are willing to pay.

I am pretty sure you can buy rifle lower (with basic trigger and buffer, shoudlnt be much more) and should be legal for you --- any gunstore would be happy to sell it to you

You’re not legally allowed to buy a striped lower because the legal age limit is the same as a handgun purchase (21yo). You could buy a complete rifle lower.

Oh boy, lets get this started. So what's the physical difference between a stripped pistol lower and a stripped rifle lower with no barrel attached?

The way the shop received it. If it comes in complete and with a stock it’s received as a rifle. If it comes in complete with a brace it’s received as a handgun. Stripped it’s a frame/receiver and is subject to the same age restrictions as a handgun.

Negative. Not in my shop anyway. A receiver is a receiver regardless of whether it is stripped or complete or type of stock or brace. Receiver/Other. Even if Pistol is stamped on the receiver it still gets logged as a receiver/other.
The only time it gets logged in as a pistol or rifle is if it comes in complete with an upper attached.
Still doesn't matter, you have to be 21 to buy a lower in any configuration as was stated. Pretty dumb law. I can sell an 18 year old a complete AR but not an AR lower.
