Item Name: Why .380??

Location: Marietta

Item is for: Sale/Trade NOT SPECIFIED

Willing to Ship: No

Bill of Sale Required?: No

Item Description: I bought a Sig 238 once, sold it here on ODT and bought a Sig 938 instead. 9mm is cheaper and more powerful, so with so many tiny 9mm pocket guns out there, why buy a .380?

I’ll chime in. I carry a Glock 42 .380 as a backup . It’s served me well . So why the 42 over the 43 ? I’ll tell you why:

When your getting your ass kicked by two Mexicans and a white guy the muzzle flip on the 43 might cost me my life . Other than the P7 there I find most micro 9mm pistols unpleasant and have too much muzzle flip to really be useful in a SD role unless i have no choice .

I’ll take less power with better shot placement over more power and a miss any day of the week and twice on the weekends

I prefer 9 mm for range duty and carry but I also like the "snap" that I get from .380 rounds. I enjoy shooting my Beretta 84's as much as anything and 13 rounds in a compact is more than enough.

The compact 9mm guns are NOT the same size as the smallest .380 pistols.
The nines are bigger.

AND, they have a heavier recoil spring, which can make them difficult for women and senior citizens to operate.

PLUS, the intense recoil and muzzle flip from 9 x 19 mm fired from a light, compact gun with a two-finger grip frame can really hurt your performance at the range. Which gun is better for you: The one that you can use to shoot 6 out of 7 shots into a grapefruit-sized group over the silhouette's center of mass at 7 yards in 3 seconds... OR the much harder-to-control 9mm that gives you basketball-sized groups and still drags your time out to 4 or 5 seconds?
