That's not true.... You may own a handgun in Georgia at 18, You must be 21 to purchase a handgun in Georgia.

For what it’s worth gentlemen, this statement isn’t entirely accurate either. You must be 21 to purchase a handgun from a licensed dealer. In a private party sale, it is legal in the state of Georgia to buy a handgun at 18. If you’re going to dogpile the guys thread, at least be right.
