Have you seen what they wear though? Masks, gloves and a gown...you can bet if I was anywhere near someone with Ebola I'd be in a full hazmat suit.

This....plus, bacteria/viral transmission is so easy to do if you don't follow 100% of all the necessary precautions.

.. and now of course comes the blame game, that it was a breech in protocol => the health worker's fault. Yeah, right.

All I can say is, dumb ****ers. Watch contagious or outbreak, or read the hot zone, and here we go. It's prep time *****es.

Today we wake up to the realization that the USA is unable to contain one single case of 1 person "from off the street" infected with Ebola.

Yet our best effort at intervention is only having 4 major airports (beginning this week) implement a simple test with one part that involves the traveler telling the truth. The irony is that had the test been in place prior to Thomas Eric Duncan's arrihttp://www.theoutdoorstrader.com/threads/784231-Tannerite-vs-Hogsval to Dallas, the test would not have caught him anyway because his flight did not originate from west Africa AND he lied.

I do not own tin foil but my conclusion is that the power brokers in this country want this contagion on the loose.

I can't see them wanting it considering if it got real bad the economic trouble it could cause would definitely take money from their pockets. The supposed reason for sending troops to west Africa was at least in part to help stabilize the region to minimize the impact on global economies. I just think they are too stupid about the whole process.

What happens next year when these number are in the hundreds?

This^^^

If we can't be 'perfect' with a single, ultra-high profile case, what are the odds that we'll be perfect when we have a hundred cases with thousands of healthcare workers involved?

Are we going to quarantine the workers as well? Keep them from coming in contact with anyone for 21 days or more? If not, how do we 'monitor the tens of thousands of people those thousands would come in contact with?

This has the potential to be really really bad. I think the chances are slim but then again it really only takes one person slipping through u noticed to infect a lot of people. How many Ebola patients do you think hospitals could really handle at once?

Yep, I think 2015 is going to be interesting!

Looking for the "breach in protocol"...the problem is a lack of protocol. Why are we letting people fly in with nothing more than taking there temperature? Putting the lives of 300 million Americans at risk so as to not offend or inconvience some 200 foreign nationals a day isnt just unpatriotic its idiotic...
