Laufen, you are gift that keeps on giving. Do you ever run out of excuses????

Excuses? Like what? The CDC has been pretty upfront in sharing all of the information that they have. Do you have proof otherwise?

Like I said, I appreciate the fact that they continue to research the virus to uncover new information that may help prevent it's spread. Don't you?

There has been 14 outbreaks of Ebola in the last decade. Do you really think that they don't know what is going on? People have to stop listening to the CDC and the media about this. Do your own research and prepare yourself accordingly. It will no doubt get worse before it gets better.

Apparently they don't. They are drunk with power and ego and Mr. "Stop smoking on the sidewalk in NYC because bystanders might get cancer" is now head of the CDC telling people that in THE SAME VIDEO saying you can't catch ebola from public transportation and please do NOT ride public transportation if you've been exposed is not a contradiction. If the stakes weren't what they are it would be hysterical to watch.

The virus is in a constant state of evolution. Ignoring experts in infectious disease, and googling the best plan of action on the internet is probably not your best bet, although the internet is full of world class experts in every imaginable field.

Burn scientists at the stake!!!
**** man, is it 1644 again?

Times have changed, but people haven't I guess.

given the nature of ebola, the resurgence and major spread it has seen, why the **** wouldnt the CDC issue a travel warning or at least try to advocate a ban from travel to and from that **** part of the world?

the CDC is pretty self serving with a number of different agendas. for instance, HPV was not a health crisis 2 decades ago because about half the population is at least carriers and the vast majority of HPV strains are completely benign. a report gets published that HPV could potentially increase the risk of types of cervical cancer (not that it is a sole proximate cause). as a result HPV is now classified as an STD, vaccines are produced and advocated as if its the next big killer

this is the same thing with the ebola. the dems are already attacking GOP for not allowing the feds to give more money to the CDC (as if a lack of funding is really the issue).

the CDC does good and bad, but it is headed by the same types of administrators in any government funded position. ebola was never a world problem until health organizations made it a world problem (aka by trying to erradicate or help they have only encouraged its spread)

these types of organizations such as WHO are groups THAT ARENT FROM A SPECIFIC COUNTRY. aka UN types, i dont trust any organization that isnt backed by a nation and seeks to better the world, complete BS.

dont believe me? go to the WHO page or any other. they all agree that the idea is to educate a population or to work with a community to stop the spread.

guess what? its already spread because of this stupid, short sighted, inclusive approach. especially given africa's history of corruption, noncompliance, and in general just piss poor performance (economicaly, socially, and government) why would you trust them to fix it with proper oversight?

what would the best idea be for america to do? i dont know, maybe protect americans directly versus this holding hands with the world approach (and hand to hand contact is how its spread)

this is the same politically rallying that has been going on since the UN was formed

are they scientists or bureaucrats?

Yup, no one gets to the top rung of the science 'ladder', in either government or academia, without being more of a politician than a scientist. It's like the difference between a police chief and a police officer. Chiefs are politicians, and so are the heads of government agencies.
