Item Description: I bought this old Winchester 73 to use for Cowboy Action Shooting but never shot it. Metal shows a gray/brown patina w/ approx. 15% bluing remaining. Wood is solid with no splits or repairs. All metal to wood joints are proud. The action if very tight and seems to function perfectly. The dust cover is a little loose which is common with this model. At some point the brass elevator was replaced. The bore is shiny showing sharp rifling. This rifle would make an excellent investment for anyone who is interested in Winchesters and should be an excellent shooter. Includes hardshell Planto case. What's the date of manufacture? I can't read the serial number clearly
Hello! According to Winchester it was manufactured 1891. At some point the brass elevator was replaced so the serial # doesn't match the one on the receiver which shows it was manf. 1891 (SEE updated listing.) Hope this helps.
