This is one you'd be best reloading for. The rounds will thump a deer or hog into the dirt. It'll run the 286gr bullets to somewhere around 2,300fps, which sounds slow by modern bullet standards, but energy is in the 3,400 ft. lbs. range. I have a 9.3x62 and it recoils like a stout 30.06, so this should be just a bit less than 30.06.

That is glorious. I'd mount a peep sight on the receiver and then maybe use that forward rail for an Aimpoint. Man, that is old school cool.
