Item Description: 1943 Smith Corona 03-A3 .30-06 U.S. military rifle, serial number 4809509.
I purchased this rifle in 2006 and hate to part with it, but I have not shot it in a long time and need some cash for a project.
The barrel is dated 10-43; the date is stamped on top of the barrel just behind the front sight, along with the flaming bomb logo. The bore is bright and shiny.
The function is flawless. The receiver is perfect. There is no rust or pitting on any part of the rifle. It comes with a leather military sling.
Smith Corona made about 234,000 of these rifles between 1942 and 1944.
The military stock has been sporterized and refinished. The gloss finish on the wood has faded in a few spots.
The military stock has several cartouches, including the FJA and OG on the left side of the stock, a P inside of a circle under the pistol grip, and 4 smaller cartouches under the stock, in front of the bottom of the magazine.
I am not a dealer. This gun has been in my possession for ten years. I am only willing to meet somewhere near Canton.
Own a piece of WW II history for only $500.00 OBO.
