A square-body crew cab like this is getting harder to find these days. This truck package specifically is rated for 1.5 ton towing capacity. The SLE (luxury) model also features nicer leather/pleather? seats, a heated steering wheel and more robust air conditioning. Original cobalt blue paint. My grandfather handed down this truck to our family when he passed and we do not have interest in keeping her around. If you are interested, please DM me and I will set up a convo.

Disclosures: There are minor dings/scratches at the hood and along the truck bed itself. There is a small tear approximately 2 inches long in the upholstery. Other than that, the truck is completely functional and all electrical components operate normally. Price is negotiable.

Yes, that is an early GMT-400 (OBS). I would check around for comparable prices. Single (this is not a crew) cab long beds aren't high on the collector tiers.

Also, it would help to post the build codes present in the glovebox. You can decode them online for free or fairly cheap. Does it say on a door jamb sticker that it's rated at 1-1/2 tons?.. That looks like a standard 1/2 ton.

I am sorry but I am going to have to insist its a 1-1/2 ton. A mechanic, the previous owner, and the owner's manual that came with the truck all state it is a 1-1/2 ton.

A 1500 series truck is a half ton truck regardless how it identifies
1987 was las square body half ton
Trailer towing capacity has nothing to do with it being a half ton truck
2500 is 3/4 ton 3500 is 1 ton

Correct. Trucks are rated based on payload capacity, so this is more than likely a standard 1/2 ton. Not a bad truck at all, just trying to help the op.
