Item Description: Here I have a 1997 Polaris Sportsman with a 400 2-stroke engine. I bought it less than a year ago, mostly disassembled. I don't have a place to keep it to finish fixing it and need to unload it as soon as possible.
It has an push-button electric starter with pull-start backup, 4WD, is liquid cooled, has a tow hitch, a brush guard and front and rear racks, and mixes the oil and gas for you from separate reservoirs. The frame, steering and suspension are good, it comes with two sets of wheels and tires, and most of parts. I have all the large, expensive parts. As far as I know, it needs a few smaller things like a battery, spark plug, starter, pull start rebuild, and a carburetor rebuild. The original problem was that it blew a hole in the bottom end and then sat for a while while the guy tried to figure out what went wrong. I got a bottom end off a functioning machine, bought a brand new piston and gasket set, and was working on cleaning everything up.
I found a free repair manual in .pdf form online that has wiring diagrams, assembly diagrams, torque specs, and everything you should need to finish the job. I can help you find it or send you the link.
I'm willing to negotiate and I'm open to trades, just let me know what you have.
