Summary: For sale is a 2014 Cadillac CTS Vsport Premium. Fewer than 4,500 Vsports were made from 2014 to 2019, as it sat between the ATS-V and the CTS-V in Cadillac's lineup. Its the full-size CTS sedan but with a 420 HP twin-turbo V6 under the hood and 8-speed automatic. From the factory they shipped with half-loads of coolant and sub-par ignition coils, but this one has both issues corrected and a Trifecta Performance tune installed. When in Sport mode (details below), it will happily hold 19 psi of boost as long as you hold the throttle. This is also the Premium trim, with every available option from the factory, including head-up display, heated & ventilated seats, paddle shifters, and adaptive cruise control.

Odometer: 77092

History: I purchased the car with 49000 miles a few years back; prior to that, it had no reported accidents and none since. The rear axle was replaced under recall at around 51000 miles; allegedly this was hub-to-hub, per the dealership. The car was a daily driver for about a year, and has made a couple of road trips. It has less than 600 miles on the spark plugs, ignition coils, and tires. I have also added a ported throttle body and the aforementioned Trifecta tune.

Features:
Head-up display, metal paddle shifters, 8-speed automatic, RWD
GM's magnetic ride suspension, a proper mechanical limited-slip differential, adaptive cruise control
Heated & ventilated seats (front), heated seats (rear), three-zone climate control
Rear sun shades (passenger windows and full rear glass), heated steering wheel
Customizable driver display, infotainment with navigation and backup camera
Universal garage door opener, Bose sound system, parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring system, lane departure warning
New tires, ignition coils, and spark plugs!

Fun:
  • Trifecta dyno-tested the 2014 CTS Vsport at 380 HP and 430 lb-ft of torque at the wheels, right in line with Cadillac's claim. Their tune and no other mods boost that to 450+ HP and 510 lb-ft of torque. The installed tune on this Vsport limits the boost to about 15 PSI in "Tour" mode, but unlocks all the performance in "Sport" mode. It is a substantial difference in acceleration, with little other discernable difference in shifting or fuel economy.
  • Gas mileage is great... unless you are having fun. Usual fuel economy is around 31 MPG, best I got on a road trip out to Arkansas was 34.5 MPG, and racing the red lights has me closer to 25 MPG.
  • Ported throttle body, no clue how much this helps but given the geometry of the intercooler, its better than stock. And it makes the car growl.
  • Sleeper sedan. The only giveaways on the exterior are a single V badge on the rear and the extra-wide rear tires.
  • Excellent handling. The car was built to compete against BMW and Mercedes, and in my opinion Cadillac pulled it off.

Flaws:
  • CUE - the infotainment system is terrible, but at least functional. It pre-dates Android Auto or CarPlay, though there are ways to part-swap into a more capable unit.
  • Rear view camera is not good. As far as I can tell, it was this bad from the factory.
  • Sunroof shade melted off its track on the dealer's lot and I never got it repaired.
  • Wear predominantly around the driver's seat: cupholder inserts fell out, scratched-off labels on the window controls, minor scuffs on the leather trim and steering wheel.
  • Minor paint chips on the front bumper and rear fender.
  • Split-fitment tires wear quickly as they can't be rotated front to back. My last set only lasted 23k miles, but that's expected for this type of car.

The Ugly: I live in Alabama, but regularly travel to Rome. My schedule is limited as a result, but I will be as flexible as possible.
This is a very fun car that I enjoy, but I'm domesticated now with a family and responsibilities. And Alabama roads don't have anything to offer that will stretch this car's legs!

Price dropped. If you've got a price point in mind, talk to me! Carvana really low-balled me, and CarMax gave typical car-reseller pricing, which is lower than I'd like.

I've got the title in hand, and need to fund some home improvements.
