Thanks, it is a beauty and a neat piece for any collection. I just need to let her go to help pay for some other items in the collection.
The notch in the frame behind the sideplate was for a trigger safety that's nearly always removed. The flat spring riveted on top, going forward over the top of the sideplate is another safety device to trap the sear transfer bar when the sideplate's removed. Both were safety devices fitted to pistols issued to the police, apparently they had more AD's than the army lol.

Thanks for this info! I had heard the possibility of those features being related to it originally being a police issue. Always learn something new with these neat pieces of history!
