Here is a restored 99. It is 100% perfect throughout. Even the bore is perfect.

Come with a bayonet in good condition. I meant to also restore this to new condition but never got around to it.

I have 2 Type 99s. One the crest has been ground off and the other is complete such as this one. Were the ones with the crest intact snuck out of the country?

Not necessarily. The Mums that were rubbed or scratched off were done by the soldiers because it was the seal of the emperor and they thought it was dishonorable if they were captured while still in tact. However, not every single soldier did this as they were often taken from POW's or KIA's
