Discontinued in 2009, the Benchmade 42 remains highly sought after by collectors and Bali-song enthusiast as one of the most durable, balanced and beautiful Bali-song fighting knives made. I researched prices and found a range of $250 for used knives to $550 for NIB. Given the "like new" condition of this knife, it seems $300 is a very reasonable market value...even exceptional value.
Having not sold an item on this forum, I was uncertain of the shipping procedure, but would be willing to ship given the right circumstances.

True. The 80's had some "butterfly" knives that looked similar at a glance, but the difference in this knife from those $20 POS knives is like the difference between a Ford Taurus and an Aston Martin that have the same grill-shape.
Bought this on a whim years ago and really don't have a need for it. Hoping someone else does. Certainly willing to entertain offers.

Probably not, Chucklenut...though I appreciate the interest. Actually looking to buy my wife a great birthday present. Guess I could just give Her the knife, right?...better than an iron, I guess but still a little tacky.
I have enough knives that I think selling this one for some cash to spend on my girl will still let me keep my man-card.
